The Department of Commerce at Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) was established with the expansion of professional and career-oriented programmes following the conferment of deemed university status in 2008. The department offers B.Com. (Hons./Hons. with Research), M.Com., and Ph.D. programmes, along with skill-based courses like Diploma in Financial Accounting & Computerised Accounting (Tally) aligned with industry requirements. The thrust areas of research include accounting and finance, taxation, banking and insurance, corporate governance, entrepreneurship development, and rural and cooperative economics, with a focus on fostering practical knowledge and supporting regional economic development.
